Ferran Blasco Aguasca, L.Ac.
Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)
Masters of Acupuncture and TCM
Ferran Blasco Aguasca is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of North Carolina. Along with his general practice he specializes in internal medicine. He is a member of the American Association of Oriental Medicine.
In his clinical practice he combines Oriental Medicine and modern medical research with Homotoxicology. Oriental medicine includes acupuncture and Chinese herbology, heat therapy, breathing exercises and meditation, therapeutic massage, nutrition and lifestyle counseling. Homotoxicology is a modern school of Homeopathy that combines single homeopathic remedies into formulas that support the body’s natural defense, detoxification and regulatory mechanisms. Ferran feels that these two traditions of medicine complement each other very well, offering his patients the necessary tools to approach the modern world’s challenges to health and happiness.
Ferran’s objective is to make patients understand that relieving the symptoms that brought them to the clinic is obviously urgent but that more important is to address the underlying problem or root condition that caused them. Resolving that root condition is often a slow process that requires compliance and patience. True health is a long-term project with few shortcuts and where lifestyle and attitude are of extreme importance.
Ferran started his studies in natural medicine in Barcelona, Spain, more than 10 years ago. Since then he has studied and practiced several forms of natural and traditional medicine, always with a strong emphasis on the integration of those with modern medicine and science. His special interest on longevity and rejuvenation led him to study Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Ferran graduated with a Masters of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University in Los Angeles, CA. This four year medical program included Chinese medical theory and diagnosis, Chinese herbology, acupuncture, Western clinical medicine, nutrition, lifestyle, massage, qi gong, and a strong emphasis on personal cultivation.
During that period of time he studied with some very experienced doctors and practitioners in the USA like Jeffrey Yuen, Howard Lee, Miki Shima, Matt Van Beschotten, Mikio Sankey and John Chen. He has also complemented his studies of medicine with other Daoist arts including meditation, qi gong, tai chi, astrology and Feng shui. He has also received apprenticeship training in Zahori Art, Geobiology and Sacred Geometry.
Currently he continues his studies of Chinese Medicine and Homotoxicology with much passion and delight, since he believes that learning is an ongoing process and that only by constantly refining and challenging his skills can he bring the best to those who seek his help.
